Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning “short course.” Cursillo is a personal experience of God accompanied by fellowship, instruction and testimony. It aims to reveal the truth of Catholicism and its fundamental significance to our lives.
The Diocese of Harrisburg Cursillo Movement is officially recognized by the Diocese of Harrisburg and falls under the guidance of Bishop Timothy Senior through the Office of Laity and Family.

The word Cursillo means "a short course". A short course in Christianity.
A 3 day experience that leads to:
1. A profound encounter with Jesus Christ, that leads to...
2. A life in grace...
3. That evangelizes the environment God has placed you in
4. That is supported by a community of Catholic Christians.
It gives all Catholics a pathway to a greater relationship with Christ. A way to navigate one's faith journey no matter where one finds themself in their relationship with God. A path that leads to a deep, personal encounter, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Cursillo has received the blessings of the Popes, including Pope Paul VI who gave us St. Paul as our Patron Saint. In May 2002, our Holy Father Pope John Paul II honored the movement by acknowledging its presence in 60 countries, 800 dioceses, and being lived by over 8 million souls. The Cursillo Movement is also endorsed and encouraged by the American bishops.
